Ceramics & PotteryCome and make your own ceramic pieces on the potter’s wheel, under the watchful eye of the skilled instructor, João Neves! Groups are kept to a maximum of 5 participants ! The lessons – given in Caldas da Rainha - are frequented by both first timers and more experienced ceramists of different nationalities, encouraging a good working atmosphere and the exchange of ideas. Basic techniques that will be taught Knowledge of the materials; clay, glazing, potter’s wheel; Kneading, throwing, centering the clay; bowl & cylinder shapes; You will also learn how to finish your items and then glaze them. Advanced participants will have the opportunity to gain more experience and improve their turning and clay-modelling techniques (larger-scale works, how to form handles, different pouring spouts, etc.).
